My Ideal, My teacher
Arjun and Eklavya, both needed a light to follow, a source through which they can learn to channel their abilities in a righteous way and for the purpose of the greater good. One got that light and one found a way to be aligned with that light. The light was their teacher, Guru Dronacharya. Just like Arjun and Eklavya, we all at some point of time in our life, need a light, a teacher, an ideal that we can follow to bring the best out of our own abilities. We can consider ourselves as
horses and our teachers as horse blinders. Just like the blinders help the horse to not get distracted from its actual path, a teacher to helps a student to just follow a straight path without getting entangled in the obstacles in that path.
In our life, most of us have at least one teacher who has guided us, helped us and affected us in such a deep magnificent way that has shaped us into a person that we are now. We always consider that
teacher as our ideal. But we should know that that teacher teaches us more from his or her failures and mistakes than his successes. A teacher who is considered as an ideal wants us to not repeat the same mistakes in our life that they have committed for whatever reason in
their life. A teacher is a vigour in a student’s life that brings them him out of the abyss that a student faces in any critical situation. It is the idealistic values and personality of a teacher that pushes us out of our limitations and these ideals which are passed onto us by our teachers are the wealth that can be passed onto the forthcoming generation.
If a student is a moist clay, a teacher is a skilled potter who moulds us in such a form that we become able to face any heat that the world subjects us to. An ideal teacher takes the abilities of each student in the account and never judges the capabilities of a student as an individual.
I also have teachers whom I consider as my ideals. Not only because they provide me with knowledge but also because of their modus operandi. The way that they are disciplined and dedicated to their goals in their life makes me want to be much more disciplined and dedicated
to my goals. Their one pat on my back gives me the energy to fight my shortcomings and no doubt that energy is one of the strongest driving forces in my life. I aspire to become an ideal student for my ideal teachers.
